Why your inner thoughts matter
Your cognitive world
Our inner cheerleader or our inner critic
A more lasting Descartes truth might have been “I am therefore I think” for our thoughts are our constant companions in life, often accompanied by an inner voice that is more than happy to let us know exactly where we are going wrong, what our personal failings are or just how far away from our hopes (and everyone else’s) we really are.
Nothing wounds and stabs so perpetually as our own inner voice. And if there was one single life changing move you could make it would be to harness this ever present critical voice and turn it into our own inner cheerleader.
Sounds easier said that done?
Where the magic lives
There are proven techniques that help to make that step from critic to cheerleader and I am here to guide you through them, till we find the right ones for you. We will equip you with a ‘cognitive toolbox’ to turn that internal monologue into your favourite affirming playlist.

Testimonial on behaviour change
“When I started working with Eleanor, I was great at making plans to change things but seemed stuck when it came to actually making those changes. It was like all the joy lived in the planning and I’d spend hours there, dreaming - planning - mind mapping - reflecting - writing goals and to do lists.
But that was it.
Then I started working with Eleanor and we did some profound work on how my old narratives were causing me to fear failure, and even fear success! I had got stuck in old patterns of thought, many from childhood, and I didn’t even realise the impact they were having.
Together, we identified these damaging patterns, understood their past and then put them aside and replaced them with better, more empowering thoughts. We then started setting small, achievable goals and, with Eleanor’s unfailing accountability between sessions, I started to actually make changes. Small at first, but now I feel as if my whole life has been transformed. I am in control of my life at last. I’m a doer, not just a planner!
“Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and freedom.”
— Victor Frankl
Case Study: Anxious thoughts
Abigail came to me having had years of crippling anxiety. It was affecting her health, her relationships, her work, her life. She had tried CBT, talking therapy, counselling, EFT and much more. She arrived at our first session and declared she was “a hopeless case”. I replied, they’re my favourite! And from there we started.
Each week Abigail came to our sessions, with new anxious thoughts and new worries. As soon as we ‘switched’ one off, another would take its place. It was clear that Abigail’s mind was working hard to get a message across to her with these anxieties and it was determined to be heard. Steadily we worked on techniques to abate the anxious thoughts but alongside that, we listened and held space for her worries. We started to recognise a loving protection within these anxieties; a deep desire to protect and also to change. Once we began to listen, we were able to pinpoint the areas of Abigail’s life that desperately needed to change, the values that were going ignored and the core needs that weren’t being met.
In that first session, Abigail ranked herself 1/10 in happiness. She only pushed herself above a zero because of her gorgeous dog, her constant companion. In our last session together, Abigail declared she was consistently at a 8/10. Every single day, life had got better. Working with me, for a year, Abigail had understood exactly what her anxiety needed to know, had changed her life in fundamental ways and now had a calm, worry-free mind. She reaches out to me every few months to check in and to show me how well she’s putting into place all the techniques I taught her. Last week, she sent me a photo from her wedding looking completely radiant.
“Eleanor is an angel in disguise. She showed me a way out of the darkness in my own head. I will forever be grateful.”
